Every product is developed jointly with you in our well-equipped quality laboratories that greatly exceed industrial standards.

State-of-the-art production processes such as Buss kneaders, twin screw extruders, as well as continuous and discontinuous mixers can be selected for the most varied applications. At the same time, the extensive quality assurance system ensures consistent product quality.

As a reliable supplier of high-quality, customized solutions, Polyplast Müller has enjoyed an outstanding reputation in the cable industry for more than 35 years. One result of this extensive experience is a vast product range that meets the most diverse requirements of the cable industry. High-quality insulation and jacket materials for a wide range of applications based on PP, TPE-S and HFFR are manufactured on the most modern production facilities. We manufacture the PVC compounds known under the Decelith® brand in the PCW GmbH at the well recognized site in Eilenburg on special PVC production lines. This wide product range is rounded off by precisely matched colour and additive masterbatch.

PP-Compounds – the right choice for safety.

PPM offers special PP-based high-performance compounds with outstanding properties and excellent processability for the following applications:
  • Automotive cables up to +125°C acc. ISO 6722, LV112 and further standards
  • Cables with high resistance to reverse bending (eg. drag chain applications)
  • Data cables
  • Pilot wires in charging cables (electric vehicles)
  • UL 758 conform cables and wires in industrial applications (eg. servo – or sensor cables)

TPE-S Compounds – highly flexible.

Polyplast Müller provides specially matched TPE-S compounds for applications with high demands on reverse bending resistance.

Typical applications are:

  • ABS/ESP sensor cables in vehicles (-40 …+125°C)
    according to ISO 6722 and other standards
  • Door and tailgate wiring harnesses in vehicles
  • Control cables in the robotics area (e.g.: in drag chains)
  • Sensor cables in the industrial sector

We do not give the cold shoulder to flame retardation.

For years Polyplast Müller is developing and producing halogen-free, flame-retardant compounds that stand out clearly from the competition thanks to their excellent processing properties and consistent quality.

The PolyCable HFFR compounds can be found in many application areas:

  • Data- and telecommunication cables & wires
  • Building wiring acc. international fire safety standards (eg.: CPR)
  • Insulations and cable jackets acc. VDE 0207, IEC 60502, BS 7655 and further standards

For the PVC cable sector, Polyplast Müller offers an extensive, wide-ranging product portfolio, which, in addition to standard applications, also includes many technically very demanding solutions. The traditional Decelith® brand stands for a high degree of experience and precise knowledge of the specific requirements of the extrusion and application.

The Decelith® cable compounds can be found for example in:

The Decelith® – cable compounds can also be complemented by special injection molding plug grades.

The crucial difference.

Every polymer and every requirement needs individual solutions in the colouring of cables. PolyCable Colour masterbatch is precisely adjusted to the application in question and is often developed on a customer-specific basis. Our plant at Bingen on the Rhine is exclusively focused on the development and production of colour masterbatch. Our laboratory installations can produce samples for you within a few days. A list of options is provided below:
  • Masterbatch for LDPE and XLDPE
  • Special masterbatch for HFFR compounds
  • PVC colour masterbatch
  • Universal colour masterbatch for PUR, PVC, PE, HFFR
  • Black masterbatch for UV protection

Small addition – large effect.

Additive masterbatch is more than the sum of its components: Apart from the careful selection of additives, it is immensely important to select a polymer type suitable for the intended application. The choice of an optimum compounding technology is essential for optimal dispersion and consistent product quality. Our additive concentrate range includes:
  • Antioxidants and metal deactivator systems
  • TMQ masterbatch for peroxide and silane systems
  • Highly efficient cleaning granulates

Whether apple green, sea blue or raspberry red, our colour masterbatch specialists at Bingen on the Rhine and in North America will show you an impressive range of 13,000 colour formulations. And if you still haven’t found what you are looking for, a qualified team of colourists working with state-of-the-art computer and manufacturing technology will reliably and flexibly develop your optimal colour solution. The PPM pigment concentrates can be designed to meet the highest colour fastness, covering power, thermal and UV stability requirements.

Every colour combination can be matched quickly and accurately. We deliver samples, small quantities or large volumes within a very short period of time. According to your individual needs.

Additives improve the characteristics of numerous plastic products. Even tiny doses are sufficient to impart far-reaching properties to plastic products such as anti-static capability, light stability, reduced friction (slip), flame retardation, and other additional properties that help to contribute to increase the product’s functionality. Eliminates sticking points – for easy handling.

Anti-block properties are required for film and flexible packaging production. Anti-block additives enable the reduction of adhesion (also known as “blocking”) between 2 film layers, which results in much better handling both during production and during later use of the product.

To ensure everything runs smoothly!

In film or flexible packaging processing, the COF (coefficient of friction) is a limiting factor for processing speeds. This is due to the tendency of films to adhere to metallic or other film surfaces. Slip agents considerably reduce this effect and provide for more efficient production conditions.

So that moisture does not stick.

Anti-fogging agents prevent the formation of condensation drops on plastic film. Condensation drops are undesirable on food packaging as they impair the appearance of the packaging and the packaged product is not clearly visible. In greenhouse film they prevent condensation from dripping off, which can lead to brown spots on plant leaves caused by the concentration of light. In anti-fogging agents, special additives are worked into the polymer which migrate to the surface and minimize surface tension.

For increased safety, even when it gets hot.

Flame retardants are traditionally used in building and construction, in the automobile industry, or in the field of electronics. Polyplast Müller offers flame retardants based on different substances which, when incorporated into the end product, prevent the spread of flames and flaming droplets and can reduce the formation of smoke.

Reliable protection for greater durability.

As most polymers can be damaged by UV radiation, UV protection is required in many application areas. This can be achieved by two different modes of action:

UV absorption: By converting UV radiation into thermal energy, UV absorbers form a protective film that protects the polymer and the packaged goods from damage.

UV stabilization: the addition of UV stabilizers can prevent polymer damage and increase its durability.

Perfect structures for perfect products.

High processing temperatures, as well as environmental influences, can damage the polymer structure in the end product. Thermostabiliser batches effectively reduce this effect and offer significant advantages during production, storage and in the end application.

For optimum processing and top-class results.

Processing aids are used in many applications to optimise processing conditions without affecting the end product. The fluoropolymers contained improve the melt flow of the polymer in the extruder and reduce the shear forces at the transition to the metallic wall. Material output can be increased by adding processing aids, and energy costs can be lowered thanks to pressure reduction. They are also an effective remedy for problems like shark skin and nozzle deposits.

Short cleaning times. Less downtime. In other words: a good, clean solution.

PolyPlus® LD 1925 ZZ is a versatile, stabilized, and extremely effective LLDPE-based purge compound specially developed to reduce the cleaning times of extrusion and injection moulding plants to a minimum. It should be used before dismantling and cleaning the extruder, during planned and unforeseen extruder downtimes and during material and colour changes.

PolyPlus® LD 1925 ZZ contains surfactants and abrasive agents with mechanical and chemical cleaning properties to remove degraded polymer and pigments from the extruder and from the die.

The use of PolyPlus® LD 1925 ZZ immediately before the cleaning process has shown that downtimes can be reduced my more than 50%!

This also applies for product and/or colour changes.

So sparks don’t fly.

Static charge can occur and cause static sparking when two plastic surfaces are rubbed against one another. It also favours the attraction of dust and reduces processing speeds. These negative surface effects can be prevented by adding migrating polar additives to the polymer matrix.

Perfect finished products combined with outstanding efficiency.

Fillers characteristically have a high concentration of mineral substances. Depending on the application, their use can produce properties such as increased stiffness, paper-like effects and better printability in the end product. In addition they can help to reduce polymer consumption in order to cut costs.

Knowledge to select the correct additive for an application is extremely important, therefore working with an experienced supplier you can trust is crucial. All black masterbatch formulations are carefully tailored to every required application profile. Many of them meet even the highest test standards. This range features products for the cable industry as well as BAM* approved qualities which are required in geomembrane production, for example. With or without fillers – or with additional agents like UV or thermal stabilizers – Polyplast Müller black concentrates are convincing due to their attractive price/performance ratio and their wide range of possible applications.

White masterbatch is primarily used for the production of films, blown bottles, injection moulded products and profile extrusions. Our high quality range of concentrates – such as for paper coatings – includes UV resistant solutions for silage stretch film as well as pigment filler mixes for standard applications.

With or without fillers – or with additional agents like UV or thermo stabilizers – Polyplast Müller white concentrates are convincing due to their attractive price/performance ratio and their wide range of possible applications.
